Te Araroa: The Long Pathway

It’s been a while since my last post.  Most of them have been on hiking lately and there will be more of that to come.

For more detail info on the trail you can check the Te Araroa Trust website: www.teararoa.org.nz

I am in New Zealand at the moment to do some more hiking or ‘tramping’ as the Kiwis like to call it. The plan is to do part of the Te Araroa trail.  Te Araroa, or the long Pathway, is a 3000km walk from Cape Reinga at the top of the North Island all the way to Bluff at the bottom of the South Island. It’s a relatively new trail that just opened in 2011. We have a couple of months to finish it (beginning of April we fly to Hawaii) so we will ‘just’ be doing the south island part.  Which is still good for a solid 1300km. Let’s see how my feet are gonna like this.

I will try to keep you updated on the progress,  but I’ll have to see how that will work out with limited internet access, flat phone battery or just being too tired 😉
